Letter from the Executive Director

Hi,
I’m John Haley and this is my wife, Amy, and our three boys: Jacob, John David, and Joel.

First, I want to thank you for visiting our website. We think that we offer unique opportunities for ministry, and we are glad to be able to share these with you. Whether Adventive Cross Cultural Initiatives (acci) is at the beginning or at the very end of your search, whether you choose to serve with us or some other agency or denomination, we count it a privilege to be a part of helping you find the will of God for your life. Whether you are considering lifetime or short term assignments in cross-cultural service, we believe God has a uniquely suited place for you to serve and make a difference for the Kingdom.

As you browse our website, you will find that acci offers a wide variety of ministry opportunities. We can help you at every stage of your missionary journey. If you already have a clear sense of what God has called you to do, and where He has called you to do it, then acci can help you establish your ministry and recruit other missionaries to work with you. If you are just beginning to explore how God will be using you, we will help match you up with experienced missionaries as you seek His direction.

At acci, we believe God uses all of His servants to establish His kingdom. We work with many other organizations, and we recognize that there are many good equipping ministries, training centers, agencies, and denominations. Some of them are preparing and reaching out in focused, specific ways, and we are pleased to recommend them for people called to those areas. If, for instance, you already know that you want to minister to university students, we would recommend such organizations as InterVarsity Christian Fellowship or Campus Crusade for Christ. Should you know that you are called to translate the Scriptures, Wycliffe Bible Translators is perfectly equipped to assist you in your call. Suppose you want to work among Muslims in church planting, let us recommend Mission Frontiers. In this age of the Internet you have valuable resources that can help you see the wide range of ministry training and service available worldwide. Two very helpful sites are Urbana (www.urbana.org) and The U.S. Center for World Missions (www.uscwm.org). Another way to access these sites is to simply go to our home page and click "Links". Our purpose is to help you become involved in missions—whether God calls you to acci or any of these, or other, fine organizations.

You will find that acci is a unique kind of sending organization. We invite you to continue reading to gain more information about us. We pray that you will continue to see God’s direction as you seek to serve Jesus. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. Should the Lord direct you to serve with us I will count it a great privilege to help you fulfill all that you are called to do and be.

Sincerely,
John Haley
