ACCI team member, Salvatore Capritti, faithfully serves with REM Ministry, Italy. REM mission was started a few years ago and has already purchased 3 buses which have been converted into free coffee shops with libraries and prayer rooms, that travel evangelizing to unreached towns throughout Italy.
The Giona Ship Project—As Salvo and his team have continued to serve throughout Italy, they began praying for God to expand their territory of service and to reveal more possibilities. God began to ignite their hearts to begin planning to also reach out to the 189 major islands in the Mediterranean sea and hundreds of inhabited smaller islands, most of which have never been reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
REM’s vision is to prepare a ship large enough to carry around 10 people and yet small enough to be able to reach the smallest of the islands. The boat will be used both to house and prepare missionaries and volunteers personally for doing evangelization. They envision having a small onboard library for discipleship and Bible study, a dining room, and a small conference room.
The boat has been purchased, and they are now praying for His provision for remaining funds to restore the boat. Their hope is to begin their pioneer ministry, sailing by 2020, traveling throughout the islands for 6 months to 1 year.
They will need volunteers and of course, your donations to help this vision happen.
