ITALY & MISSIONS

Italy’s church is slowly growing, but “born-again believers” still account for less than 1% of the total population.
Although the church is small, there is a growing interest in missions, and more and more young people are starting to engage in some kind of missionary work.

The problem with missionaries who are sent from Italy to other countries or do ministry cross-culturally, is that the majority of sending mission organizations and churches are not equipped to provide the necessary member care, and the spiritual and emotional support that they would need.
This results in servants on the field who often feel alone or abandoned, and who experience burnout or depression with no external help.

Since christian counseling and member care are still a rather new concept for many local church leaders, we thought about a way to provide them as an external service, by partially sponsoring it through a fund. This is why the Paraklesis fund was started.
